Rice students deserve every opportunity to expand their frontiers and put their creativity and curiosity to the test. Thanks to three dynamic funds, each named after Rice trustee Elizabeth Lee Moody '14, students will be able to expand their horizons through immersive civic, cultural and research experiences.

ELIZABETH LEE MOODY

  • International Fund in the Humanities and the Arts

    The Elizabeth Lee Moody International Fund in the Humanities and the Arts will support courses and programs giving students opportunities to study abroad, including a program led by Rice faculty members from the Center for Language and Intercultural Communication.
  • Junior Professorship

    The Elizabeth Lee Moody Junior Professorship will support a professor whose area of research is based in community engagement and civic participation.
  • Undergraduate Research Fellowships in the Humanities and the Arts

    The Elizabeth Lee Moody Undergraduate Research Fellowships in the Humanities and the Arts will support competitive stipends for humanities majors to conduct research projects or pursue internships.

ELIZABETH LEE MOODY '14

Elizabeth “Elle” Moody was appointed to the Moody Foundation’s Board of Trustees in 2015. Elle graduated from Rice University in 2014, earning degrees in Art History and Religious Studies. She holds a master’s degree in Visual Art Administration from New York University. Currently, Elle is an account director at the global communications firm Sutton, where she leads international media strategies for a diverse roster of clients in the cultural sector.

Elle leverages her diverse background in arts and culture to guide the foundation’s investments in the arts across Texas. She has advocated for projects ranging from the Contemporary Austin to the Blanton Museum of Art to the Galveston Arts Center. Elle currently serves on the Rice University Board of Trustees, the advisory board for the Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University, and on the National Leadership Board.
