
Elizabeth Lee Moody Endowed Funds in the Humanities and the Arts
Thanks to three dynamic funds, each named after Rice trustee Elizabeth Lee Moody '14, students are able to expand their horizons through immersive civic, cultural and research experiences.

The Elizabeth Lee Moody International Fund in the Humanities and the Arts primarily supports the Center for Language and Intercultural Communication's Rice in Country programs, which give students opportunities to participate in Rice faculty-led summer study abroad programs.

The Elizabeth Lee Moody Junior Professorship will support a professor whose area of research is based in community engagement and civic participation.

The Elizabeth Lee Moody Undergraduate Research Fellowships in the Humanities and the Arts supports undergraduate researchers with regular programming, scaffolded development over time, and paid stipends for research projects and internships.

Ross Rankin Moody Civic Engagement, Student Success and Global Leadership Fund
The Ross Rankin Moody Civic Engagement, Student Success and Global Leadership Fund supports a variety of programs that enrich the undergraduate experience:

Moody Civic Immersion - utilizes student leaders to connect and build community with incoming Rice students as they explore Houston and gain insight into local social issues

Owl Access - a college transition program tailored for students who identify as first-generation and/or limited-income

Moody Global Fellows - provides undergraduates with a positive, fully-funded, first-time experience abroad

Moody International Changemakers - allows a cohort of undergraduate fellows to be placed into international summer internships with a focus on STEM

Moody Opportunity Fund - provides direct funding to students hoping to pursue a co-curricular opportunity related to their academic and professional development

Frances Anne Moody-Dahlberg Gateway Program Fund
The Frances Anne Moody-Dahlberg Gateway Program gives social sciences undergraduates an opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to real life. The fund supports a wide range of experiential learning opportunities for social sciences students, such as research,
internships, externships, practica, faculty-lead immersion programs and more.

Libbie Rice Shearn Moody Fund for the Arts
The Libbie Rice Shearn Moody Fund for the Arts provides expanded support for the center's fall and spring exhibitions and allows for innovative programming with undergraduate students, such as the New Art / New Music series, which commissions Shepherd School students to compose original music in response to the exhibitions on view.

Robert L. Moody Sr. Fund for Undergraduate Business Students
Robert L. Moody Sr. Fund for Undergraduate Business Students allows the Virani Undergraduate School of Business to provide co-curricular opportunities such as an enhanced student ambassador program, strategic partnerships with employers, and improved structure and governance
of student organizations.

Russell Shearn Moody Pathway to Research in the Natural Sciences Fund
The Russell Shearn Moody Pathway to Research in the Natural Sciences helps ensure that every student, regardless of natural sciences discipline, can engage in these life-transforming research experiences alongside distinguished faculty at Rice and with our Houston-area partners, including those in the Texas Medical Center. In particular, this fund allows for centralized support and coordination for undergraduate research opportunities, including the Moody Natural Sciences Research Fellow.

Allan Watkins Matthews Fund in Baseball
The Allan Watkins Matthews Fund in Baseball enables the Rice Baseball coach and team to meet emerging priorities, ranging from technology purchases to program enhancements to student academic support.

Ann McLeod Moody Fund for Student Wellbeing
The Ann McLeod Moody Fund for Student Wellbeing enables the Wellbeing and Counseling Center to address critical needs relating to student health and wellbeing by expanding programming and professional staff positions designed to promote the mental and physical wellbeing of all students. In particular, the fund helps provide diagnostic testing and co-pays for students who cannot afford the fees and also supports students who are experiencing mental health crises and may need assistance with the travel and accommodations required to reconnect with family.

Irwin M. “Buddy” Herz Community Outreach, Leadership and Engagement Fund
The Irwin M. “Buddy” Herz Community Outreach, Leadership and Engagement Fund provides financial help for students to travel to short-term job-shadowing experiences through the Owl Edge Externship Travel Fund and provides vital financial support to for students pursuing unpaid or minimally paid career-related summer experiences through the Owl Edge Summer Experience Fund.

Bevan/Warren Fund in Track and Cross Country
The Bevan/Warren Fund in Track and Cross Country supports the cross country and track and field teams by enabling various student-athlete enrichments such as travel to meets/trials, new equipment and technology, and additional wellness/recovery offerings.
