Equipped with a dynamic academic experience, Rice students in the social sciences are eager to make a difference and tackle big societal challenges. - Gateway Program in the Social Sciences
The Frances Anne Moody-Dahlberg Gateway Program gives social sciences undergraduates an opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to real life. The fund supports students in professional practica, conference travel, undergraduate research and internships. With the fund’s backing, students will build networks and become leaders in academia and the workforce.

FRANCES ANNE MOODY-DAHLBERG
Frances “Francie” Moody-Dahlberg has served as the executive director of the Moody Foundation since 1998, and as chairman, oversees the Foundation’s activities. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Francie has strong interests in women’s and children’s issues and the arts. She has championed the Foundation’s philanthropy in these areas with signature grants to Parkland Foundation, Family Place, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, a number of child welfare, early childhood and educational programs, as well as Moody Performance Hall and Moody Fund for the Arts. She serves as a trustee of SMU and is on the boards of Simmons School of Education, Meadows School of the Arts, AT&T Performing Arts Center, Transitional Learning Center, Moody Endowment, Dallas Best Dressed Hall of Fame and the advisory board of Crystal Charity Ball.
